Overview

Bhaskargad, also known as Basgad, is a beautiful and relatively offbeat hill fort located in the Trimbak range of the Sahyadris. During the monsoon, the trail comes alive with lush greenery, misty landscapes and flowing streams.

The trek takes you through scenic mountain trails to the historic fort, where you can explore ancient structures, water cisterns and enjoy panoramic views of Harihar Fort, Brahmagiri and the surrounding Sahyadri ranges.

Perfect for trekkers looking to explore a lesser-known monsoon destination away from the usual crowds.

Day 1

Mumbai → Kasara

Board the CSMT–Kasara Fast Local and meet the group at Kasara Railway Station.

Train Schedule:

  • 09:32 PM – CSMT
  • 09:40 PM – Byculla
  • 09:50 PM – Dadar
  • 10:00 PM – Kurla
  • 10:06 PM – Ghatkopar
  • 10:22 PM – Mulund
  • 10:27 PM – Thane
  • 12:13 AM – Reach Kasara
  • 12:30 AM – Group Meeting at Kasara Railway Station

Proceed towards the base village and rest before the trek.

Day 2

Bhaskargad Trek

Arrive at the base village early in the morning and freshen up before enjoying tea and breakfast.

Begin the trek via the historic Chor Darwaja route and ascend towards the magnificent Rajgad Fort.
